Conspiracy: Pepite told the court that lawyers drafted pardoning instrument

The former speaker, Marcelino Pepite told the court yesterday that lawyers drafted the instrument of pardoning. Mr Pepite said that the letter was not his letter but belong to the lawyers.

Mr Pepite didn’t denied his signature on the letter.

Mr Pepite told the court that he put his trust on the lawyers. Yesterday, Mr Pepite wanted to put the blame on the lawyers but the prosecution told the court that Mr Pepite acted on his own free will when he signed the instrument of pardoning.

The prosecution also cited the word of Mr Pepite during press conference at the conference room of the speaker of parliament.. Pepite’s word was ” with the consultation with the minister  of justice”. Prosecution said that Mr Pepite only mentioned the minister of justice and not the lawyers.

The trial continues again this morning.
