Prime Minister Charlot Salwai left Port Vila this morning for the Melanesian Spearhead Group in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
Mr Salwai is accompanied by his foreign minister Bruno Leingkon and senior government officials.
Mr Salwai is expected to defend the decision of the Council of Ministers. Recently the Council of Ministers took a stand to make West Papua become full member of the MSG during the leaders summit in Honiara. COM also endorsed that MSG Honiara summit to remove Indonesia as observer within the melanesian organisation.
Following, the decision of Vanuatu’s Council of Ministers, Mr Salwai has already met with his counterpart from Solomon Islands and also current chairman of the MSG, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare and the spokesperson of the FLNKS, Victor Tutugoro to inform them about the decision of his government.
