PM Kilman denies having Facebook page

The Prime Minister’s Office is investigating the creating of a facebook profile claiming to be Prime Minister Meltek Sato Kilman Livtuvanu in the Yumi Toktok Stret Facebook Page.

The Prime Minister’s Office would like to inform the public at large and the members and participants of facebook that the profiles purporting to be the Prime Minister are false profiles and investigations are underway with the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, and the Police have commenced investigations to identify the source of these false profiles.

Once the sources of these profiles are identified, the responsible culprits will be dealt with in the appropriate manner including criminal charges as it is unlawful to impersonate someone without their prior permission and more especially the Prime Minister of Vanuatu.

These acts show a distinct disregard for the law and common decency as well as infringing on individual rights and courtesies.

The Prime Minister’s Office asks that those responsible should cease such actions.
